Capital Area Veterinary Medical Association (CAVMA)

Capital Area Veterinary Medical Association (CAVMA) has been a professional association of veterinarians in the greater Austin, Texas area dedicated to continuing veterinary education for its members since the 1960’s. What started as a small group of local veterinarians who traveled together to San Antonio to attend continuing veterinary education meetings established itself as an independent local veterinary medical association (VMA) in 1965.  Our association has grown, bringing with it the opportunity to promote professional camaraderie and public education within our veterinary community. Today we are a registered Texas non-profit and hold the federal IRS designation of a public charity, 509 (a)(2) under section 501(c)(3).
